This was our first post: Free Plastic 101: Making a Trophy

• Step 1: Farm plastics from your local environment.
• Step 2: Deliver plastics to Free Plastic.
• Step 3: Introduce your locally-sourced, organically-farmed plastics to a shredder.
• Step 4: Mulch your plastic while you yell “Die plastic die!” (yelling optional).
• Step 5: Mix 8 ounces of epoxy resin with 6 ounces of mulched plastic, and pour into your mold.
• Step 6: Once cured, remove from mold.
• Step 7: Rinse and repeat.

Enjoy!! And for those concerned about the long term effects of thermoset plastics over the recyclability of thermal plastics, here’s a little teaser: we are working on a new system to recycle thermoset plastics like epoxy, vinyl ester, and polyester. (!!!)
