The Aqua Auction coffee table is made from reclaimed walnut slats and 507 grams (over 1 pound!) of unrecyclable plastics sourced from South Florida beaches and our local community.
The reclaimed walnut slats are organized, planed, and joined with splines to create the outer banks, and this table features both an island of walnut and a lake within one of the river banks.
This table was won by the winner of the silent auction from the Key Biscayne Community Foundation’s 2020 Aqua Party, and all proceeds are going towards our goal of creating a mobile unit for live plastic recycling anywhere in South Florida.
All proceeds support Free Plastic’s mission to locate, collect, and upcycle the nearly endless supply of plastic pollution found in our local environment, converting it into usable objects and works of art. Free Plastic, Inc is a Florida Not For Profit Corporation and is a fiscal sponsorship fund operating under the Key Biscayne Community Foundation’s 501(c)(3) charitable umbrella.
